Public Sector Strategic Planning

Good strategic planning is fundamental to a modern, effective public sector. However, strategic planning methods are often introduced from the private sector without considering the different requirements of the public sector. The focus of this workshop will be on helping participants develop a practical strategic planning approach that they can immediately apply and which will work in any part of the public sector. The workshop will take participants beyond just producing a normal ‘text and table’ strategic plan (although it will be shown how such a plan can be produced) to a new way of working. In this innovative approach, a visual ‘outcomes model strategic plan’ is used as the basis for strategic planning. Work done on building this model within the strategic planning process can then be reused within a range of different organizational functions (e.g. performance measurement, outcomes-focused contracting etc.).
Aircraft Reliability Monitoring and Maintenance Costs

This seminar outlines the background of aircraft reliability programmes as part of the operator’s maintenance programme and will specifically emphasize on issues related to maintenance cost analysis. Oversight by the Aviation Authorities to ensure continued compliance with the regulatory requirements, while fulfilling the challenges of cost reductions and effective maintenance programmes, is of paramount importance. Therefore it is essential that both the Aviation Authorities and the Aviation Industry are on the same level of understanding. This seminar will provide such an understanding.
